This week in school we studied the founding of the Conservative and Orthodox movements in the United States. We learned about the establishment of the Jewish Theological Seminary as well as Yeshiva University. We focused on Jewish visionaries such as Solomon Schechter and Bernard Revel. Your children discussed various ways they could participate in both Jewish and American society doing things such as celebrating the Jewish holidays in addition to national holidays.
