Dear Wonderful PASJE Families,
Today we:
Discussed the life of first Jewish Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis and the idea of Tzedek - Justice. Ask your child why our weekly giving - Tzedakah - comes from the same word. Fun fact about Brandeis: as a child growing up in Kentucky during the Civil War, his immigrant parents emphasized social justice and outlawing slavery and had him bring food to the Union soldiers.
Sang Purim songs with Music Teacher Michael and practiced the song we will be singing at Passover (a new song for us) "Adir Hu." It's an energetic tune and a nice change from "Dayenu." :-)
Started making spinning Jewish calendars.
Shavua Tov,
Stacy
