Dear 5th and 6th Grade Parents,
Today's highlight was definitely getting to open up Cathy's small replica Torah and to scroll-back from Bamidbar (Numbers), where the scroll was when we opened it, to the Ten Commandments and Song at the Sea back in Shemot (Exodus). It was fun to show those special sections to my students since they have special formatting not often seen elsewhere in the Torah.
We also revisited the theme of immigration to the Land of Israel. We found our newfound access to a projector allowed us to use Google Earth to view the city in Czechoslovakia where my grandfather grew up and view his journey of illegal immigration to Mandate Palestine a few days before the Germans invaded in 1939.
Have a very good week!
Best,
Daniel
