Dear Parents of the Fifth and Sixth Grade,

It was my pleasure to be teaching your kids again yesterday. It seems like they did well last week when I was gone. I enjoyed seeing the comics that they had made. We discussed the characters whom they had drawn so that I could see how much they recalled.

We divided into groups again, and I gave each group a short article about one of the five major pre-statehood Aliyot, that is, waves of immigration from Europe, as well as one wave from Yemen before the First Aliyah. My students then started working on making brochures encouraging immigration to the Land of Israel as though the brochures were directed toward the wave that they had read about, since each wave came for somewhat different reasons and under different circumstances.

Have a good Thanksgiving and we will see you in a few weeks!

Best,

Daniel
